This June, the New Canaan Red Cross will celebrate its 60th Anniversary serving our community with a new challenge—to make New Canaan the most prepared town in the nation. With your help, we can do it!

Prepare your family for the disasters that can happen in New Canaan.

Disasters that affect your family:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Power outages
  • Fire

Disasters that affect your community:

  • Flood or hurricane
  • Sudden longer term events
  • National security emergencies
New Canaan Statistics 2008

NC Volunteer Ambulance Corps calls:

  • 275 accidents (falls, burns, etc.)
  • 120 possible heart attacks
  • 30 possible poisonings
  • 160 motor vehicle accidents
  • 150 respiratory problems

Other emergencies:

  • 2 significant power outages
  • 10 tree & wire down incidents
  • 2 large house fires
